Experimental Design

For my identity experimental image, I used a picture of me and covered it in a colour overlay making it blue, I then cut out my jacket and made a new layer making it a magenta colour to differentiate the coat from me. I then cut out my arms separately made 2 separate layers out of them and added a black colour overlay to show my arms. I then added a drop shadow to all the layers of my body to make me stand out from the background.

I found the background of Google and I used vibrance and hue/saturation to correct the colour to match me whilst also keeping the retro cyberpunk vibe to the image.

Lastly, for the text, I used a clipping mask of the background and put it over the text. I then changed the hue saturation of the image on the clipping mask and added a subtle white outer glow to my text to stand out from the background. Finally, I placed my text behind the character and that's how I created my image.

I used the idea of camouflage to convey the idea that human beings are adaptable and influenced by the environment that they are in.

Experimental Magazine Cover

This was an experimental magazine cover that I made quick. Things that would change with the real cover would be fonts and background but I like the idea of the text clipping mask over the man's head making it white. The barcode will most likely be in the same place and I will consider keeping the title font.

Experimenting with Clothing Poster

Update on the Clothing Poster

In this change, I added small differences such as changing 'summer sale' to 'best bargains' as it fits the theme of my poster better and promotes my clothing magazine more effectively. I added shoes as I wanted to show a more complete outfit.

For my final production, I added a badge mentioning that they would find more information inside the new magazine which will also be a part of my project. I changed the font of best bargains as it didn't look right before. I enlarged the clothing to make it cover more empty space and I slightly tampered with the colours to get them just right.

Experimenting with Magazine Cover

First I needed to choose a font for my magazine cover title so I will try out different ones and see which product I like the most.

I chose the second font as It suited the street aesthetic more than the others and it also looked more natural on the brick wall.

After I chose the font I added a dirt png on top of the text to make it look more natural on the wall. I also added some text in white graffiti on the left and cut out the people so that I could place the graffiti under the men. I also added a orange circle using the shape tool to create a badge. I also added a barcode which I found off of google to give a more magazine cover look.

Added a clipping mask of the background on top of all the text in order to make the graffiti look more realistic as if it was actually sprayed there. I also place the 'Mystery guest' badge behind the bin. I also added black spray paint behind the words to make the text more legible for the viewers.

For my contents spread I made the clothing spread on the left page on photoshop and I took the images off of google. I took the back image on the right off of Pinterest and I used a variety of tools to make the image double the length so that it would go behind the clothing collage on the left page. I used a graffiti font which i downloaded off of dafont to make the contents header and the numbers on the contents. I cut out the man on the right and added a drop shadow on it to make the man stand out and to make him go over the contents word.

I also added a drop shadow on this clothing collage to make it blend better with the background.

For this magazine spread I got the image background of this image of an image online but got the man off of a different image to mage my own original image. I downloaded the logos online and cut them out. I made this on photoshop as I know how to use photoshop the best out of all of them. My plan foe this is to create text on the societal impacts of big clothing brands so I want to create a 2 column text body and a big header on the right hand side.

I made the header and the body in different text to make the header stand out more and I chose this graffiti font as it suits my streetwear aesthetic more. I made this text but the font is too big and its only in 1 column so I need to make it into 2 columns and I need to make the font smaller and create more text.

This is my final product of this spread and I made the text 12pt and created 2 columns. I talked about multiple impacts of major fashion brands in good detail and I made sure to follow all the standards of a good magazine.

For my 3rd magazine spread I plan on making it more abstract then my other ones. I made this cool graphic that reads 'Vestis' which is the name of my magazine and I made each letter different colours whilst adding a drop shadow to make it stand out more. I'm going to put one of my friends in the center of the spread and make a large body of text on the right hand side.

I added my friend Sandra in the middle of the spread and its an original image. I made her overlay the graphic and used colour balance and hue/saturation to make her white dress pink to add more colour to the page to my the page pop out more. Next I'm going to add text to the right of the image going all the way down the page.

I added the meaning of 'Vestis' in the top left and text on the right but the text isn't very legible. I also added text on the left but it overlaps the middle image which makes it quite hard to read and not very legible. I also need to add the name of my magazine in the top left.

This is the final product of this spread and I added a header in in the top left explaining the text on the right stating 'What is fashion'. I added the name in the top left. I faded the main image in the middle which makes the body of text on the right more legible. I also moved the meaning of Vestis to the bottom left of the page to fill in the empty space.
